Mrs. Edward E. Bennett, wife of the Deputy Civil Administrator, addressed the opening of the fourth annual "Charm Class" Oct. 15 at the Naha Ryukyuan-American Cultural Center in Yogi, Mrs. Bennett said "Okinawa has a great potential as one of the major tourist centers in the Far East. The success of the tourism industry must draw heavily on your friendly and capable efforts." The class is sponsored by the Naha Center and the Okinawa Women's Advisory Committee to the Ryukyuan-American Cultural Centers for young ladies from various local establishments and offices. Instruction includes lectures in customer relationships, telephone courtesy, work simplification, and Ryukyuan and American culture.

ベネット副民政官夫人は15日、那覇琉米文化会館で催された「チャーム・クラス」の開講式で講演した。同夫人は「沖縄は極東に於ける主要観光センターの一つとして発展する可能性が大いにあります。」沖縄の観光産業を成功させるためには、皆様の親切な行為と能力が重要なポイントとなります」と語った。チャーム・クラスは那覇文化会館と沖縄婦人協議会が地元の商社や事務所の女性職員のために開設しているのもので、対人関係、電話のかけ方、能率的な事務の進め方、琉球およびアメリカの文化等に関する講義を行っている。
