The Naha Officers' Wives' Club (NOWC) invited 60 members of the Nago Old Folks' Federation on Sept. 18 to Naha Air Base. The old folks enjoyed lunch at the Teen Club with Air Force officers' wives. After lunch, they observed a sentry dog demonstration, and toured the flightline and the housing areas, observing the American way of living in six homes, including the residence of Col. Roy D. Carlson, commander of the 51st Fighter Interceptor Wing. The tour was realized in response to a request from the Old Folks' Federation. On Sept. 2, the NOWC presented eight electric fans and a vacuum cleaner to the Hokubu Old Folks Welfare Center in Nago City.

那覇将校婦人クラブは9月18日、基地見学のため名護の高齢者60人を那覇航空基地に招待した。高齢者たちは空軍将校夫人等と昼食を共にした後、軍用犬の訓練、滑走路や住宅地域等を視察し、第51迎撃戦闘機団司令官ロイ・D・カールソン大佐宅やその他5ヶ所の家庭を訪問。米国の生活様式を見学した。この基地見学は名護老人クラブ連合会の要請に応えて行われたもの。婦人クラブは9月2日に名護市にある北部老人福祉センターに扇風機8台と掃除機1台を寄贈している。
