Four Junior high schools were each presented with a complete 16-book set of Golden Book Encyclopedias on June 4 during a brief ceremony held at the USCAR Women's Club gift corner in the Harborview Club. Funds to purchase these books were obtained through profits from the gift corner. Shown in the photo are (L to R): Mrs, Roy A. Highsmith, outgoing welfare chairman, USCAR Women's Club who is departing for the U.S. on June 11, Mrs. Russell Stevens, president, USCAR Women's Club, Mrs. Leonard Dicke, gift corner manager; Seishun Yamauchi, teacher of the Naha Junior High School; Mrs. Kiyoko Toma, teacher of the Tomigusuku Junior High School; Shintoku Oshiro, teacher of the Naha Junior High School and Koei Yamane, librarian of the Koza Junior High School. A fifth set of books will be sent to the Miyako Island Junior High School.

6月4日にハーバービュークラブの米民政府婦人クラブギフトコーナーで行われた短い式典で、4つの中学校へゴールデンブック百科事典の全16冊のセットが贈られた。これらの本を購入するための資金は、ギフトコーナーからの利益を通じて得られた。写真は左から、ロイ・A・ハイスミス夫人(6月11日に米国に向けて出発する米民政府婦人クラブの福祉委員長)、ラッセル・スティーブンス夫人(米民政府婦人クラブ会長)、レナード・ディック夫人(ギフトコーナーマネージャー)、ヤマウチ・セイシュン教諭(那覇中学校)、トウマ・キヨコ教諭(豊見城中学校)、オオシロ・シントク教諭(那覇中学校)、ヤマネ・コウエイ図書館司書(コザ中学校)。また、宮古島中学校にも5セットの本を送る予定。
