USCAR WOMEN'S CLUB HOSTS RYUKYUAN-AMERICAN FRIENDSHIP TEA at the Harborview Club, Naha on May 25 in connection with the 117th anniversary of the arrival of an American squadron under Commodore Matthew Calbraith Perry off Naha on May 26, 1853 to open Ryukyuan-American relations. More than 200 ladies attended. Japanese and American style weddings were portrayed and antique Ryukyuan folk handicrafts were displayed. Among those present were Mrs. James B. Lampert, honorary advisor, who is the wife of the High Commissioner; Mrs. Robert A. Fearey, honorary president, wife of the Civil Administrator; and Mrs. Chobyo Yara, wife of the Chief Executive. Mrs. Harriman N. Simmons is president of the club. For this event, Mrs. Tadao Kobayashi was overall chairman; Mrs. Gordon Warner, program chairman.

米民政府婦人クラブは、1853年5月26日に那覇沖でマシュー・カルブレイス・ペリー提督の下米艦隊の到着117周年に関連して、5月25日に那覇ハーバービュークラブで琉米親善茶会を開催した。琉球とアメリカの関係。200人以上の女性が参加した。日本とアメリカの様式の結婚式が描かれ、アンティークの琉球民芸品が展示された。出席者の中には、ジェームズ・B・ランパート高等弁務官夫人(名誉顧問)、ロバート・A・フィアリー民政官夫人(名誉会長)、屋良朝苗行政主席夫人及びハリマン・N・シモンズ夫人(米民政府婦人クラブ会長)。このイベントでは、コバヤシ・タダオ夫人が全体の責任者を務めた。ゴードン・ワーナー夫人はプログラム委員長。
