Mrs. James B. Lampert, wife of the High Commissioner, on Nov. 27 visited the Naha Health Center at Miebashi, Naha headed by Dr. Shigeo Iha and the Okinawa Physically Handicapped Children's Hospital at Yogi, Naha headed by Dr. Shiro Yamada, as part of her familiarization tour of local medical and welfare institutions. Mrs. Lampert was accompanied by Mrs. Robert A. Fearey, wife of the Civil Administrator; Dr. (Capt.) Anthony F. Vuturo, preventive medicine officer, and Frank F. Nomura, interpreter, both of the Health, Education and Welfare Dept., U.S. Civil Administration of the Ryukyus (USCAR). A two-story building at the children's hospital is being constructed at a total cost of $48,000 donated by USCAR, Fort Buckner Women's club and Kadena Officer's Wive's Club. The building, which is expected to be completed on Dec. 25, will include a kitchen, dining room and auditorium.

ジェームス・B・ランパート高等弁務官夫人が、沖縄の福祉医療施設訪問の一環として、11月2日、那覇市美栄橋の那覇保健所（伊波茂夫所長）と与儀の沖縄整肢療護園（山田之郎園長）を訪問した。ランパート夫人に同行したのは、ロバート・A・フィアリー民政官夫人、米国民政府厚生教育局のアンソニー・F・ブッロ予防医学係官とフランク・F・ノムラ通訳官。沖縄整肢療護園では、現在総工費4万8千ドルで2階建を建設中であるが、その資金は米国民政府援助とフォートバックナー婦人クラブおよび嘉手納将校婦人クラブの寄付によるもの。同建物は12月25日完成する予定であり、それが完成すると調理場、食堂および講堂に使用される。
