MRS. LAMPERT VISITS WELFARE INSTITUTIONS - Mrs. James B. Lampert, wife of the High Commissioner, visited three welfare institutions for children, the aged and the handicapped in the Shuri area of Naha July 16 as part of a familiarizatoin tour of local medical and welfare institutions. Mrs. Lampert was accompanied by Mrs. Stanley S. Carpenter, wife of the Civil Administrator; Dr. (Col.) Robert T. Jensen, director, and Maj. Joseph H. Rapp, chief, Welfare Div., USCAR Health and Welfare Dept. The tour included the Ishimine Children's Home; Kosei-en, home for the aged; and the Training Center for the Physically handicapped In March, Mrs. Lampert visited the Chuo Ikusei-en, training center for mentally retarded children; Airin-en Children's Home and the Seiwa Mental Hospital. She also plans visits to the Leprosy After-Care Center and the Ryukyu Tuberculosis Institute next month.
