American women's club representatives, escorted by Maj. Joseph H Rapp, chief, Welfare Div., Health Education and Welfare Dept., U.S. Civil Administration of the Ryukyus, and Tomizo Oyakawa, executive director, Okinawa Social Welfare Council, visited the Nago District Welfare Office headed by Ginei Yonashiro on Dec. 15 to present 100 food baskets to needy families living in the Nago district. The representatives were Mrs. William R. McCracken, vice-president, and Mrs. John I. Graig, welfare chairman, both of the Ladies Oriental Shrine of North America; Mrs. William Cutter, welfare chairman, Fort Buckner Women's Club; and Mrs. Rapp, welfare chairman of the USCAR Women's Club. On the same day, the club representatives also presented toys to 43 children of the Tokumoto Nursery, Yabu-son, and toilet to all 150 aged persons at the Kosei-en at shuri, Naha.

米婦人クラブの代表が、12月15日、米国民政府厚生教育局福祉部長ジョセフ・H・ラップ少佐および沖縄社会福祉協議会の親川富蔵事務局長の案内で名護地区福祉事務所(与那城銀英所長)を訪れ、名護地区に住む困窮者に100個の食料袋を贈った。贈呈式に出席したのは、ロスナ婦人クラブのウィリアム・R・マックラッケン夫人(副会長)、ジョン・I・クレイグ夫人(福祉委員長)、フォート・バックナー婦人クラブのウィリアムカッター夫人(福祉委員長)、およびラップ夫人(民政府婦人クラブ)。一行は同日、矢部村にある徳元保育園(園児43人)におもちゃを、また、首里にある厚生園の老人150人に洗面用品を贈った。
