A meeting of the joint planning committee for a Ryukyuan-American Women's Symposium was held at the Harborview Club on Wednesday, Dec. 21. Agreement was reached at this meeting to hold a symposium tentatively on 26, 27 and 28 March next year. Expected to attend the symposium are approximately 120 Ryukyuan and American women who will discuss problems in these areas: world affairs, community, home life and public health. USCAR Women's Club has taken the initiative in organizing the symposium and called this meeting. Mrs. Monta L. Osborne represented the USCAR Women's Club for this purpose. Attending the meeting were (from left and clockwise around the table): Mrs. Howard Shaw, Kadena Officers wives Club; Mrs. J.M, Finn, Fort Buckner Officers Women's Club; Mrs, David Riesland, and Mrs. C.M. Bullock, both of the Naval Officers Wives Club; Mrs, Fumiko Nozaki, Mrs. Mitsuko Takeno and Mrs. Ikuko Nakazone, all of the Federation of Okinawa Women's Club; Mrs. William H. Nelson, Fort Buckner Officers Women's Club, and Mrs. Osborne, USCAR Women's Club.

12月21日(水)、ハーバービュークラブにて、琉米女性シンポジウムの合同企画委員会が開催された。本会議では暫定的に来年3月26日、27日、28日にシンポジウムを開催することに合意した。このシンポジウムには、世界情勢、地域社会、家庭生活、公衆衛生など、約120名の琉米女性が参加する予定。米民政府婦人クラブは、シンポジウムを主導し、この会議を招集した。また、モンタ・L・オズボーン夫人はシンポジウム開催を目的として米民政府婦人クラブの代表を務めた。会議に出席したのは(左から時計回りに)、ハワード・ショー夫人(嘉手納将校婦人クラブ)、J・M・フィン夫人(フォートバックナー将校婦人クラブ)、デビッド・リースランド夫人及びC・M・ブロック夫人(両氏ともに海軍将校婦人クラブ)、ノザキ・フミコ氏、竹野光子氏、ナカゾネ・イクコ氏の以上3氏は[沖縄婦人クラブ]の委員、ウィリアム・H・ネルソン夫人(フォート・バックナー将校婦人クラブ、オズボーン夫人(米民政府婦人クラブ)。
