Civil Administrator Gerald Warner (L) is shown congratulating Minoru Matayoshi (2nd from R), editor, Weekly Okinawa Times, an English-language weekly newspaper of the Okinawa Times , on his selection as Ryukyuan representative on the East Asia and Pacific Journalists Tour of the United States starting April 2, sponsored by the White House, State Dept., Defense Dept., and U.S. Information Agency. Mr. Warner also bid a welcome to Okinawa Times Chief Editor Seiyu Uema (2nd from L) who recently returned from a one-month tour of the United States under the Ryukyuan National Leader Program sponsored by the U.S. Civil Administration of the Ryukyu Islands (USCAR).
