On Thursday, Mar.19, Civil Administrator Gerald Warner (L) presented 300 copies of "The Strategy of Peace" and 300 copies of "Profiles in Courage," both written by the late President John F. Kennedy, to Chief Executive Seisaku Ota (C), for 300 Ryukyuan schools. Attending the presentation was Mr. Senjiro Hirakawa (R), managing director of the Ryukyu Broadcasting Corporation (RBC). The books were purchased with the funds donated by RBC. The funds were proceeds from the showing of the American Broadcasting Company (ABC) film, "72 Hours of Tragedy," relating to the late President's assassination.
【和訳】 本の寄贈
3月19日木曜日、ジェラルド・ワーナー民政官 (左) は琉球政府大田政作行政主席 (中央) に、故ジョン・F・ケネディ大統領著「平和のための戦略」300冊と「勇気ある人々」300冊を300の小学校への寄贈を申し出た。贈呈式には琉球放送 (RBC) 平川先次郎取締役が同席。本の寄贈はRBCの寄付による資金をもとになされた。資金は故大統領の暗殺に関するアメリカ放送協会 (ABC) 映画「72時間の悲劇」の上映収入によるもの。
