Civil Administrator Robert A. Fearey (R) is shown presenting a Department of Army Meritorious Service Medal with citation to outgoing Lt. Col. Tommy L. Everhart, chief, Public Utilities Division, Public Works Dept., U.S. Civil Administration of the Ryukyus (USCAR). The ceremony was held on May 25 at the USCAR conference room in the presence of his colleagues and friends. At left is Mrs. Everhart. The veteran civil engineer was cited for distinguishing himself for exceptionally meritorious service in unusual and difficult assignments of great responsibility in the field of public works and utilities for the period from July 16, 1968 to May 25, 1971. He will leave Okinawa on May 26 for a new assignment in South Viet Nam.
【和訳】 陸軍表彰
ロバート・A・フィアリー民政官 (右) は退任する琉球列島米国民政府公益事業局公益事業部長のトミー・L・エバーハート中佐に陸軍栄誉勲章を授与した。表彰は5月25日同僚や友人たちが見守る中、米民政府会議室で行われた。左はエバーハート夫人。ベテランの技師は1968年6月16日から1971年5月25日の期間、困難な中で公共事業と公益事業の分野における責任を全うしたとして、その功績が評価された。中佐は新しい任務のため、5月26日に南ベトナムに向かう。
