CIVIL ADMINISTRATOR Stanley S. Carpenter made his first trip to Sakishima, the southern island group in the Ryukyu chain, Oct. 12-13. The purpose of his visit was to become better acquainted with the islands and the people, and to present two checks totaling $12,193 from the High Commissioner's Fund to two communities in Miyako and Ishigaki islands. He inspected the operations and activities of the Miyako cultural center, electric power plant, botanical gardens, and a new TV station and transmission facilities in Hirara City, Miyako. On Ishigaki, the Civil Administrator also inspected the operations of the fishery experimental station and pearl farms at Kabira, the Yaeyama cultural center, port facilities, water, and electric power plants and a new TV station. 【和訳】 弁務官資金 石垣市崎枝区の公民館建設資金として10月13日高等弁務官資金4993弗の小切手を石垣善興市長に手渡すカーペンター民政官。
