HONORARY POLICE SENIOR SUPERINTENDENT
Maj. Gen. Carl C. Turner (3rd from L), Provost Marshal General, United States Army, was conferred the honorary rank of Senior Superintendent of the Police Dept., Government of the Ryukyu Islands (GRI), by GRI Police Director Chokei Kochi (L) on June 10. Attending the ceremony at the Harborview Club were (L-R): Mr. Kochi; Harriman M. Simmons, director, Public Safety Dept., U.S. Civil Administration of the Ryukyu Islands; Gen. Turner; U.S. Civil Administrator of the Ryukyus Gerald Warner; and Col. Harold M. Bowman, Jr., provost marshal, Ft. Buckner, Okinawa. Mr. Kochi said, "As Provost Marshall General of the United States Army, General Turner has meritoriously contributed to the promotion of police administration in the maintenance of law and order within the U.S. military services and in the civilian communities in the Ryukyus."

6月10日、幸地長恵警察局長 (左、琉球政府警察) よりカール・Ｃ・ターナー少将 (左から3番目、米陸軍憲兵隊長)へ琉球政府警察の警視正の称号が授与された。ハーバービュークラブで行われた式典に出席したのは左から、幸地氏、ハリマン・N・シモンズ氏 (高等弁務官室公安局々長)、ターナー少将、ジェラルド・ワーナー民政官 (琉球列島米国民政府)、ハロルド・M・ボウマン・ジュニア憲兵隊長 (フォート・バックナー)。幸地氏は、「米陸軍憲兵隊長として、ターナー少将は、米軍の軍事サービス内および琉球の民間地域における法と秩序の維持における警察行政の促進に功労的に貢献した」と称した。
