Minister Gerald Werner (R), political advisor to High Commissioner Paul W. Caraway, presents a $500 check to Yoei Miyara, chairman of the Ryukyu Foundation, for a one-time scholarship in the name of the late President John F. Kennedy, Standing at the left is Senjiro Hirakawa, managing director, Ryukyu Broadcasting Corporation (RBC). The money was derived from proceeds of the film, "72 Hours of Tragedy," covering the events from the assassination through the funeral of President Kennedy. The film was an American Broadcasting Company (ABC) production broadcast by RBC. The check presentation ceremony was hold during the Golden Gate Club's annual party, on Dec. 27, at the Harborview Club.
