Mrs. William Shea, welfare chairman, Kadena Officers' Wives' Club, presents a $157 check to two orphaned students ? Kaneshiro Heshiki (2nd from R), 11th grade, Hokuzan Senior High School, and his younger brother, Kanehide (R), 10th grade, Hokubu Trade and Vocational School ? on May 19 at the Hokubu Technical Senior High School. Back row at left: Principal Keisei Tomori of both the Hokubu Trade and Vocational Institute and Hokubu Technical Senior High School, and Head Teacher Kazunori Yabe of the Hokuzan Senior High School. The donation will pay for a year's tuition, starting from last month. The club will also provide $11 a month for the expenses of the two students until they graduate.
【和訳】 小切手の贈呈
写真は、嘉手納将校婦人クラブの福祉委員長ウィリアム・シェア夫人が、5月19日、北部工業高校で平敷兼博(北山高校生)と弟の兼秀(北部産業技術学校生)に今年１ヶ年間の授業料として157ドルの小切手を渡しているところ。後方左は、友利恵盛(北部工業高校長兼北部産業技術学校長)と屋部和則(北山高校教頭)。なお同婦人クラブは、平敷兄弟が卒業するまで、生活費として毎月11ドルを支給する。
