The school opened last April with an enrollment of 150 students in three courses: machinery, TV and radio repair, and carpentry. Plumbing, surveying, electricity, and upholstering courses were added last October. The institute will be in full operation next month (April 1967) with the addition of nine new courses: concrete masonry, tailoring, cabinet-making, auto-body repair, refrigeration and air-conditioning, sheet metal and welding, printing, hotel operation and maid service, and house painting. The school, which now has 235 students, was built and equipped with $748,700 in U.S. grants to meet the needs of the growing Ryukyuan economy for trained and skilled workers in the Ryukyus, and to widen opportunities for junior high school graduates to advance into better jobs.

同校は昨年4月に開校し、ラジオやテレビの修理、家具製造、機械加工の3つのコースで150名の生徒が学んでいる。昨年10月には配管、測量、電気、布張りのコースが新設された。来月（1967年4月）には、コンクリート石工、仕立て、キャビネット製作、自動車修理、冷房・空調、板金・溶接、印刷、ホテル経営・メイドサービス、ハウスペイントの9つのコースが追加され、本格的なスタートを切る予定である。現在235人の生徒を擁する同校は、成長する琉球経済の中で訓練を受けた熟練労働者を求めるニーズに応え、中学校の卒業生がより良い仕事に進む機会を広げるために、米国の助成金74万8700ドルを使って建設され、設備が整えられた。
