Dr. Raymond N. Hatch, director, Michigan State University (MSU) Group at the University of the Ryukyus (C) conferred with Gen. Carlos P. Romulo (L), president of the University of the Philippines during a recent visit to that country. The two educators discussed varied educational and technical assistance problems. MSU has technical assistance missions in other countries of Asia and the Western Pacific, in addition to the University of the Ryukyus. At right is Dr. Andres L. Abejo, president of the MSU Alumni Association of the Philippines, who hosted Dr. Hatch during his visit. Gen. Romulo, who was recently his country's ambassador to the United Nations, is one of the Philippines' most outstanding and beloved figures in contemporary history.
