Members of the Okinawa and Japan Junior High School Student's Press Club visited the Quartermaster Milk Plant during their tour of U.S. Forces facilities on Jan. 2. Explaining the operation of the Milk Plant to the group is Mr. Chuyu Sakae (R), supervisor of the plant. The Japan Junior High School Students' Press Club members arrived on Dec. 29, 1963, and departed on Jan. 4. During their seven-day visit, they met with Civil Administrator Shannon McCune, Government of the Ryukyus Chief Executive Seisaku Ota, and GRI Legislature Speaker Akio Nagamine. The group also received briefings on the preparation of the USARYIS newspaper “Ryukyuan Review” and the Kadena Air Base newspaper “Falcon.”
【和訳】 学生記者クラブ
沖縄・日本中学生記者クラブのメンバーは２日、米軍施設視察で補給部のミルク工場を訪問した。 説明を受けるサカエ・チュウユウ団長（右）。日本中学生記者クラブの一行は、1963年12月29日に到着し、1月4日に沖縄を離れた。 7日間の訪問では、シャノン・マキューン民政官、大田政作行政主席、立法院議長の長嶺秋夫氏と会談した。また、琉球列島米国陸軍の機関紙「Ryukyuan Review,」や嘉手納基地の機関紙「Falcon」の作成についても説明を受けた。
