TRIANGULAR FRIENDSHIP TRACK AND FIELD MEET -- U.A. Forces-Kyushu-Ryukyus triangular friendship track and field meet was held at the Nago athletic field (northern Okinawa) on Nov. 7. In the opening ceremony, chairman Kan Yasukawa of the Kyushu Inter-Prefectural Field and track meet, expressed appreciation for the cooperation of the U.S. Forces and expressed hope that the event will prove to be of great significance for U.S.-Japan-Ryukyus friendship. U.S. High Commissioner Lt. Gen. Donald P. Booth, said in an address, "there is no bette [better?] way to overcome the barriers of language and culture than on the athletic field."

三者親善陸上競技大会 - 米軍・九州・琉球の三者陸上競技大会が11月7日、名護陸上競技場（沖縄北部）で開催された。開会式では九州各県対抗陸上競技大会のヤスカワ・カン会長が、米軍の協力に対する謝意を表すとともに、この大会が米国・日本・琉球の親善に大きな意義を持つことを期待すると述べた。また米国民政府ドナルド・P・ブース高等弁務官はあいさつで「言語や文化の壁を乗り越える方法として、競技場に勝るものはない」と述べた。
