LETTER OF APPRECIATION TO AN AMERICAN BOY -- Douglas J. Comstock (2nd from R), sixth grade, Mercy Intermediate School, was presented with a letter of appreciation by Mr. Eiki Miyazato, chairman, Cultural Assets Preservation Commission, Government of the Ryukyu Islands, in Mr. Miyazato's office in Naha on Nov. 1. The letter of appreciation was given to Douglas because he presented a fossil fragment of a human jaw and teeth to the Government of the Ryukyu Islands, which he had discovered in Oyama, Ginowan City, Okinawa, on June 15, 1963. The fossil is believed to be a discovery of major importance and will be of value in the further study of the archeology and anthropology of the Ryukyu Islands.
