ANTI-MEASLES IMMUNIZATION -- The Government of the Ryukyu Islands (GRI) Welfare Department began a Ryukyu-wide anti-measles vaccination program for some 17,000 infants between the ages of 1 and 2, on Sept. 18. The U.S. Civil Administration provided 18,000 doses of anti-measles vaccine to support the GRI program. The anti-measles shots at health centers, municipal offices and other public facilities are being conducted by GRI medical personnel with assistance of municipal officials. ≪琉球政府厚生局によるハシカ予防接種が一才から二才までの乳幼児約17,000人を対象に、9月18日から実施された。米民政府は同計画のために18,000人分のワクチンを提供した。予防接種は市町村職員の協力を得て、琉球政府の医療関係者が各保健所、市町村役所及びその他の公共施設で実施している。≫
