MRS. SAMUEL KITAMURA -- PIANO ACCOMPANIST FOR HANDEL'S MESSIAH CONCERTS -- studied at the University of Hawaii Music Department for her graduate work from 1953 to 1956 after receiving a B.A. degree in 1953 from Hiroshima Women's College, Japan.
More than 100 singers from six international musical organizations, and top soloists and accompanists, are new ready for one of the biggest Messiah concerts ever performed on Okinawa. The famous oratorio, the Messiah, composed by Handel, will be performed by singers of a joint Protestant-Catholic church choir from Naha Air Base, the Okinawa Mormon Choir, Sukeran Army Chapel, the Naha Philharmonic Chorus, the Ishikawa Philharmonic Chorus and the Okinawa Chorus. Concerts will be performed at the Naha Air Base Chapel on Dec. 12 and 13, at the Naha Commercial High School Gymnasium on Dec. 16 and at the Army's Sukeran Theater on Dec. 18. Each concert will start at 7:30 p.m.
【和訳】サミュエル・キタムラ夫人 - ヘンデルのメサイアコンサートでピアノを伴奏 - は、1953年に広島女子大学で学士号を取得した後、1953年から1956年までハワイ大学音楽学部で学んだ。
沖縄で最大のメサイアコンサートの一つ、6つの国際音楽団体から100人以上の歌い手とトップの独唱者と伴奏者が参加して行われる今年のメサイア演奏会は準備万端ととのい12日の初日を待つばかりとなっている。ヘンデル作曲の有名なオラトリオ「メサイア」（救世主）を合唱するのは那覇空軍基地チャペル、プロテスタント、カトリック合同聖歌隊、沖縄モルモン聖歌隊、ズケランチャペル聖歌隊、那覇混合合唱団、石川混合合唱団、沖縄コールの6団体で演奏会は12日《と13日那覇空軍基地チャペル、16日那覇商業高校体育館、18日ズケラン陸軍劇場でそれぞれ催される。尚、開演はいずれも午後7時半からとなっている。≫
