SOAP BOX DERBY TIP -- Henry B. Martin, president of the W. W. Taylor Company, explains the fine points of the winning racer of Okinawa's 1962 Soap Box Derby to Ryukyuan and American boys; the racer was Okinawa's entry in the All-American Soap Box Derby last year in Akron, Ohio. This year's Okinawa Derby will be held on Sunday, June 23, in Sukiran on a stretch of paved road connecting Highway Five with Highway One, and is open to the public. Winner of the 1963 Okinawa event will earn an all-expense-paid round trip to Akron, and an entry in the All-American Soap Box Derby there on Aug. 3. All boys between the ages of 11 and 15 living on Okinawa are eligible to enter the Okinawa Soap Box Derby. Official wheels and axles are currently available at Soap Box Derby Headquarters at W. W. Taylor's.

1962年の沖縄ソープボックスダービーの優勝マシンのポイントを琉球とアメリカの少年たちに説明する W・W・テイラー社ヘンリー・B・マーティン社長。このマシンは昨年、オハイオ州アクロンで開催された全米ソープボックスダービーに沖縄代表として出場した。今年の沖縄ダービーは6月23日（日）に瑞慶覧の道路（ハイウェイ5号線と1号線を結ぶ区間）で開催され、一般に公開される。1963年の沖縄大会の優勝者には米国のアクロンまでの往復費用を全額支給され、8月3日に同地で行われる全米ソープボックスダービーに出場する権利を得る。沖縄在住の11歳から15歳までの少年には全員、沖縄ソープボックスダービーへの参加資格がある。公式の車輪と車軸は現在W・W・テイラー社のソープボックスダービー本部で入手可能。
