The University of Kansas Brass Ensemble, which is scheduled to tour Okinawa from Feb. 14 to 24, the start of a Far East tour that will last through May, will perform a wide variety of music -- from early sixteenth century works to contemporary European and American compositions including folk music and jazz. Shown here are the "jazzers," an informal combination featuring (left to right) Charles Snodgrass on trumpet; Bill Booth, trombone: Clarence Awaya, string bass. Kent Riley is at the piano. The Ryukyu Is. Lions Clubs will sponsor the university group's performances thoughout [throughout?] Okinawa. The Ensemble's international tour is under the auspices of the U.S. State Department's Cultural Presentation Program.
