THE NORTHWESTERNERS -- An American vocal ensemble from the Northwest Nazarene College in Nampa, Idaho, is scheduled to perform a free concert at the Ryukyu Broadcasting Co. Hall on Sunday, May 31 at 7:30 p.m. The director of the ensemble is Dr. D. E. Hill (L), chairman, Division of Fine Arts, and director, Department of Music. The 14 members of the ensemble are talented and attractive students who are selected on the basis of musical ability, scholarship, personality, and character. They will entertain the Ryukyuan public with a variety program of folk music, popular music and selections from Broadway musicals. The Northwesterners are on an eight-week tour visiting U.S. military installations in the Pacific area under the joint sponsorship of the United Service Organizations and the National Music Council.

米国アイダホ州ナンパにあるノースウエスト・ナザレン大学の声楽アンサンブル「ザ・ノースウェスタナーズ」が5月31日（日）午後7時30分より、琉球放送ホールで無料コンサートを開催する。指揮者は同大学芸術学部長で音楽学科主任のD・E・ヒル博士（左）。メンバーの14人はいずれも音楽的才能、学業成績、人格、人柄によって選抜された優秀で魅力的な学生で、フォークソング、ポピュラー音楽、ブロードウェイ・ミュージカルの名曲など多彩なプログラムで琉球の観衆を楽しませる予定。ザ・ノースウェスタナーズは米国慰問協会と全米音楽評議会の共同後援で、太平洋地域の米軍施設を訪れる8週間のツアーを行っている。
