KUBASAKI HIGH SCHOOL CHORUS presented a concert at the Naha Ryukyuan-American Cultural Center in Yogi, Nov. 10. The chorus, comprised of students of the American dependents school, was directed by Miss Ursula T. Barnes, music teacher of the Kubasaki High School. Among the numbers presented by the 153-voice-chorus were Samuel Ward's "America the Beautitul," Bach's "Jesu, Joy of Man's Desiring," Rogers and Hammerstein's "Edelweiss" from the Sound of Music, and Rentaro Taki's "Kojo no Tsuki," (Moon over Ruined Castle). Most of the audience were students of the Women's Course on Home Life, which is held at the center on the second Tuesday of each month. Following the concert, Miss Barnes was presented a bouquet by Atsuko Iha. ≪クバサキ米人学校のコーラスグループは11月10日、那覇琉米文化会館でコンサートを行なった。153人で編成されている同コーラスはウスラー． T．バーンズ先生の指揮の下にサムエル．ワード作曲の「アメリカ．ザ．ビューティフル」やバッハの「ジエス．ジョイ．オブ．マンズ．デザイアー」、ロージャーハマンステインの「エーデルワイズ」並びに滝廉太郎の「荒城の月」等を披露した。聴衆の殆どが同会館で毎月第二火曜日に行なわれている「主婦の世界大学」の受講生であった。コンサートが終ってから、バーンズ先生は伊波あつ子ちゃんから花束を贈られた。≫
