10TH ANNUAL RYUKYUAN-AMERICAN HIGH SCHOOL SOCCER LEAGUE was opened on Oct. 10 at the Onoyama Athletic Field with 26 Ryukyuan and American high school teams competing for the High Commissioner's trophy. The six Ryukyuan elimination tournament winning teams from Urasoe, Maehara, Tomigusuku, Koza, Chuo and Naha high schools will compete in the championship round-robin tournament with the American Kubasaki and Ryukyuan Oroku teams. Oroku was the 1969 champion team. Each team in the tournament will play every other team, and the team with the best win-lost percentage will win the 1970 island-wide championship and will be presented the High Commissioner's trophy. The league is sponsored by the U.S. Army, Ryukyu Islands (USARYIS), the Civil Administration's Ryukyuan-American cultural centers, the Okinawa High School Athletic Association and the Okinawa Soccer Association. The league will be coutinued [continued?] until Nov. 15.≪第10回琉米高校サッカーリーグ戦は10月10日、奥武山競技場で高等弁務官杯を目ざして覇を競う26チームの参加によって開幕された。当日行われた予選で勝ち残った浦添、前原、豊見城、コザ、中央、那覇の6チームとクバサキ米人学校チーム及び去年のチャンピオンであった小禄チームを含めた8チームが全琉チャンピオンを目ざしてリーグ戦を行い、勝率の高いチームがチャンピオンとなり高等弁務官杯を授与される。このリーグ戦は在琉米陸軍、琉米文化会館、沖縄高校体育連盟、並びに沖縄サッカー協会の主催で行われるもので、11月15日まで続けられる。≫
