SHINSHO MIYAZATO -- CONDUCTOR FOR HANDEL'S MESSIAH CONCERTS -- Majored in music at the University of the Ryukyus and received a B.A. degree in 1961. He is teaching music at the Oroku Junior High School in Naha, and he has been conducting the Naha Philharmonic Chorus for the past 2 years.
More than 100 singers from six international musical organizations, and top soloists and accompanists, are new ready for one of the biggest Messiah concerts ever performed on Okinawa. The famous oratorio, the Messiah, composed by Handel, will be performed by singers of a joint Protestant­-Catholic church choir from Naha Air Base, the Okinawa Mormon Choir, Sukiran Army Chapel, the Naha Philharmonic Chorus, the Ishikawa Philharmonic Chorus and the Okinawa Chorus. Concerts will be performed at the Naha Air Base Chapel on Dec. 12 and 13, at the Naha Commercial High School Gymnasium on Dec. 16 and at the Army's Sukiran Theater on Dec. 18. Each concert will start at 7:30 p.m.
【和訳】ヘンデルのメサイアコンサート指揮者ミヤザト・シンショウは、琉球大学で音楽を専攻し、1961年に学士号を取得した。那覇の小禄中学校で音楽を教えており、2年前から那覇混声合唱団を指揮している。
国際的な6つの音楽団体から100人以上の歌手、そして一流の独唱者や伴奏者が、沖縄で行われる過去最大級のメサイア・コンサートへ準備を整えている。≪ヘンデル作曲の有名なオラトリオ「メサイア」を合唱するのは那覇空軍基地チャペル、プロテスタント、カトリック合同聖歌隊、沖縄モルモン聖歌隊、ズケランチャペル聖歌隊、那覇混声合唱団、石川混声合唱団、沖縄コール6団体で演奏会は12月12日と13日に那覇空軍チャペル、16日に那覇商業高等学校体育館、18日に陸軍瑞慶覧演劇場でそれぞれ催される。尚、開演はいづれも午後7時半となっている。≫
