MARINE BAND THANKED -- A letter of appreciation was presented to the 3rd Marine Division Drum and Bugle Corps on Thursday, May 10, by the Okinawa Social Welfare Council for the band's participation in the Children's Day parade on May 5. Shown receiving the letter on behalf of the bandsmen are S/Sgt Donald B. Farmer (left), Drum Major, and S/Sgt Ernest A. Stephens, member of the drum and bugle corps. Tomizo Oyakawa, organizing director, and Rinmo Shimabukuro, general affairs director, of the Okinawa Social Welfare Council, presented the appreciation letter.
【和訳】海兵師団軍楽隊に感謝状 - 5月5日の「こどもの日」パレードに参加した第3海兵師団軍楽隊に、5月10日木曜日沖縄社会福祉協議会から感謝状が贈られた。メンバーを代表して指揮者のドナルド・B・ファーマー軍曹（左）とアーネスト・A・ステファンス軍曹が感謝状を受け取った。感謝状を贈呈したのは沖縄社会福祉協議会オヤカワ・トミゾウ組織部長とシマブクロ・リンモ総務部長。
