SAM KITAMURA (on dock), Asst Chief, Cultural Affairs Division, Office of Public Affairs, Office of the High Commissioner, bids farewell to the members of the Okinawa Symphony Orchestra as they depart Naha for a week-long concert tour during which they will perform at the Miyako and Yaeyama Cultural Centers. Shaking hands with Kitamura is Takashi Maeshiro, conductor of the Okinawa Symphony Orchestra. Ship transportation for the orchestra was provided by the U.S. Army Transportation Group, without whose efforts the trip would not have been possible at the present time.

宮古・八重山文化会館での1週間の演奏旅行に出発する沖縄交響楽団メンバーを見送る高等弁務官室広報局文化事業部のサム・キタムラ課長補佐（桟橋上）。キタムラと握手を交わすのは、指揮者のマエシロ・タカシ。オーケストラの船での輸送は米陸軍輸送班によって手配され、彼らの努力無しには現時点での演奏旅行は不可能だった。
