KEYS FOR NEW MUSEUM - Joseph S. Evans Jr. (4th from L), director, Public Affairs Dept. (PAD), U.S. Civil Administration of the Ryukyu Islands (USCAR), is shown Sept. 27 presenting keys of new building of the Government of the Ryukyu Islands (GRI) Museum, to Shigeru Chinen (next to Mr. Evans), chief, Instruction Div., Education Dept. (ED), GRI, in front of the building located near the old Shuri museum. The total cost of the construction is approximately $356,000 of which $317,000 has been provided by the United States, and $39,000 by the GRI. The museum is scheduled to open on Nov. 3. 旧首里博物館近くの建物の前で 9月27日、新博物館の鍵を琉球政府文教局指導課のチネン・シゲル課長（エバンス氏の隣）に贈呈するUSCAR広報局長ジョセフ・S・エバンス・ジュニア局長（左から4人目)。総工費は約35万6,000ドルで、そのうち米国から31万7,000ドル、琉球政府から3万9,000ドルが提供された。開館は11月3日の予定。贈呈式に出席する（左から）USCAR公益事業局ロバート・D・S・アン検査課長、サミュエル・H・ムカイダ ≪文化事業部長、米民政府公益事業局技術部長ジェムス・C・リーブス中佐、エバンス広報局長、知念指導部長、大城知善博物館長、文教局社会教育課平良親徳指導主事、外間正幸博物館主事。≫
