NOTED ANTHROPOLOGIST AND MUSEUM EXPERT Dr. Terrence Barrow (L) is shown conversing with museum personnel in front of the new Government of the Ryukyu Islands (GRI) museum located near the old Shuri museum. Dr. Barrow is a specialist in ethnology and material culture in the Department of Anthropology at the Bernice P. Bishop Museum in Honolulu. He arrived in the Ryukyus Sept. 4 for a week's visit to assist GRI museum officials. His visit is part of the continuing program of technical assistance and training provided by the U.S. Civil Administration of the Ryukyu Islands in cooperation with the East-West Center, Hawaii. The total cost of the construction of the museum is approximately $356,000 of which $317,000 has been provided by the United States, and $39,000 by the GRI.
