MISS "HUI MAKAALA OF HAWAII" -- Beautiful Barbara Jean Chinen of Honolulu is scheduled to arrive at 2:40 p.m., tomorrow (Friday, May 3) at the Naha Civil Air Terminal from Fukuoka, Japan for a week's visit to Okinawa, the home of her family's relatives. Miss Chinen is touring Japan and Okinawa under sponsorship of Hui Makaala, an organization of Hawaiians of Okinawan ancestry which is dedicated to promotion of programs of community betterment, educational scholarships and Hawaiian-Ryukyuan friendship, She will tour the island with the assistance of the Golden Gate Club of Okinawa.
【和訳】美しいバーバラ・ジーン・チネンは明日（5月３日金曜日）福岡経由で那覇に到着、親族の故郷である沖縄に１週間滞在する。今回のチネンの沖縄と日本訪問を援助するフィ・マカーラは沖縄系ハワイアンの組織で、地域社会の改善、奨学金、ハワイ・沖縄の交流事業の促進に取り組んでいる。沖縄滞在中、沖縄金門クラブが彼女を案内する。
