Commander Clarke arrived on Okinawa Jan. 15 on a program of technical interchange in the field of veterinary medicine in the Ryukyu Islands. During his five-day stay, the specialist was assisted by USCAR and GRI in conducting research on a new type of vaccine against Japanese "B" encephalitis in hogs. The Asia Livestock Company, of Gushichan, Okinawa, is cooperating in this project. 【和訳】 米国医学研究所専門医 凍結過程による動物ワクチンの製造について議論するのは左から島袋哲氏 (琉球政府家畜衛生試験場製造室室長)、E・J・クラーク司令官 (台湾台北米海軍医学研究ユニット2(NAMRU-2)、そして、グレン・A・ウォッシュバーン氏 (米国民政府公衆衛生部福祉課獣医部長)。クラーク司令官は、琉球列島の獣医学分野における技術交流のプログラムで1月15日に沖縄に到着した。5日間の滞在中、豚の日本脳炎Bに対する新しい型のワクチンを研究するため米民政府及び琉球政府援助を受けた。アジア畜産会社(具志頭村)が同中佐の研究に協力している。 【分類】Agriculture / 農業
