Walters (R), chief, Social Security Division, Labor Dept., U.S. Civil Administration of the Ryukyu Islands (USCAR), is shown presenting a membership card of the International Association of Personnel in Employment Security (IAPES) to Kiyoshi Kishimoto, director, Insurance Agency, Government of the Ryukyu Islands (GRI), on March 1. Also, pictured are GRI officials engaged in employment security, unemployment insurance and other social insurance fields who have just become members of IAPES. The objectives of the Association are to assist in improving administrative procedures in employment placement and unemployment insurance and to promote the development of professional standards for persons engaged in such activities.

3月1日、岸本清琉球政府社会保険庁長に国際職業安定協会（IAPES）の会員証を手渡すレオン・K・ウォルターズ米民政府労働局社会保障係官（右）。写真は、国際職業安定協会の会員になったばかりの職業安定、雇用保険、その他社会保険の分野に携わる琉球政府の関係者。IAPESは、職業紹介や雇用保険などの行政手続きの改善を支援し、これらの活動に従事する者の専門的な水準の向上を促進することを目的としている。
