【原文解説】1st Story: Jeep carrying M / Sgt Carolyn H. James and Cpl Louise M. Farrell, the first two Wacs assigned to Korean duty, enters the Eighth Army compound. The jeep halts by one of the bldgs and the Wacs are greeted by a warrant officer. The women enter the building. The Wacs step from a B-17 plane at K-16 AFB, they pose together and are greeted by an officer who escorts them to a staff car. Other shots as the Wacs leave the plane and chat with an airman; they enter Eighth Army area. 2nd Story: Archbishop of New York, Cardinal Francis J. Spellman conducts Catholic services in the Coleman Gym of Kadena AFB; views over heads of kneeling soldier congregation (out). Spellman escorted by other clergy leaves the gym. Outside, Spellman shakes hands with white and Negro male and female civilians, soldiers and airmen, Spellman escorted by Army officers arrives at RYCIM Plaza where he speaks, Army still photogs, a civilian takes pictures. Views of the crowd as the Cardinal speaks; an unidentified officer stands by. The Cardinal arrives at Ryukyus Army Hospital where he greets members of the staff and chats with a Negro boy and his mother. He chats with male and female patients in the hospital(most footage underexposed, soft). Spellman chats with members of the Catholic Mission at Naha. He conducts services (some ftge underexposed). All ftge as Spellman boards plane for departure underexposed.
