This film depicts the signing of the Okinawa Reversion Agreement between Japan and the United States, in which the United States relinquished in favor of Japan all rights and interests under Article III of the Treaty of San Francisco obtained as a result of the Pacific War, thus returning Okinawa Prefecture to Japanese sovereignty. The document was signed in Washington, D.C. by Secretary of State William P. Rogers (on behalf of President Richard Nixon) in the presence of Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Admiral Thomas H. Moorer, Secretary of the Army Stanley R. Resor, Japanese Ambassador Nobuhiko Ushiba, Under Secretary of State U. Alexis Johnson, and Secretary of Defense Melvin R. Laird. / 日本と米国との間で行われた沖縄返還協定調印の映像。米国は太平洋戦争終結で得たサンフランシスコ平和条約第三条における全ての権利及び利益を放棄し、沖縄を日本に返還する。署名はワシントンD.Cにてトーマス・H・モーラー統合参謀議長、スタンリー・R・リーザー陸軍長官、牛場信彦在米日本大使、国務長官付きU・アレクシス・ジョンソン氏、メルヴィン・R・レアード国防長官出席のもと、ニクソン大統領に代わりウィリアム・P・ロジャース国務長官が行った。
